摘要

Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) involves mainly the reductive polymerization of CO and H2 (synthesis gas) to manufacture hydrocarbons with trace amounts of oxygenates. A discussion covers the identification of the stoichiometrically feasible pathways of FTS; determination of the dominant pathway; mechanistic models derived from the plausibly dominant pathways; and the chemisorption energies via the density functional theory. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2007 AIChE Annual Meeting (Salt Lake City, UT 11/4-9/2007).
