N2 - This paper implements an electrocardiogram (ECG) feature extraction system onto a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The algorithm extracts ECG features including R peaks, QRS onsets, Q peaks, S peaks, QRS offsets, P onsets, P peaks, P offsets, T onsets, T peaks, and T offsets based on multi-scale analysis in Gabor Wavelet Transform (GWT); and estimates the amplitudes of P, R, T peaks and Q, S depths. Subjects' ECG signals are acquired through the Texas Instrument (TI) ADS1298R-ECGPDK ECG signal acquisition, and then transferred to Xilinx XUPV5-LX110T Evaluation Platform for ECG feature extraction via Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). Consequently, the results that are obtained by the feature extraction process will be stored in the CompactFlash Card of the evaluation platform and displayed on the monitor via the National Instrument (NI) data acquisition. The experimental results show that the proposed system that achieves low comparative error surpasses the performance in other related works.
