Index-based interpolation for maximum-intensity projection display

摘要

The maximum-intensity projection (MIP) method has been proposed to fast construct an interested 2D blood flow image form volume data of magnetic resonance angiography. However, the step of resampling along each ray is a major component of the computational costs associated with the MIP algorithm. We present an index-based interpolation method to improve the cost of resampling step and make the MIP image quality as good as the first-order interpolation. The experimental result reveal that he index-based interpolation method leads to significant improvement over the conventional MIP algorithm in both computational speed and image quality.
