N2 - "Green competitiveness" is about applying strategy to achieve productivity and overall performance of socioeconomic development while reaching the goal of sustainable development. In the modern industry, green competitiveness is an imperative element to ensure the harmony of global society, economy and environment. This work focuses on developing a metrics framework to measure the factors that affect sustainable development and green environment in achieving green competitiveness. Initial findings suggest that the indicator of industrial sustainable development is the top impact under the domain of sustainable development, and the indicator of environmental regulation has the highest influence under the domain of green environment. For the sub-indicators, results show that economic and trade policy, green environmental quality management, management of toxins, and hazardous substance management are the factors most important to economic sustainable development, industrial sustainable development, environmental management, and environmental regulations, respectively. The proposed metrics framework could be a complementary framework for the traditional metrics mainly considering for the economic competitiveness.
