Integrated Sensitive Surface Plasmon Biosensor for Dengue-fever Detection

摘要

We adapted the traditional FFT-BPM to assess the performance of plasmonic waveguide as biosensor. The tightly confined optical power in such waveguide enables an efficient way to detect tiny changes in the composition of material properties adjacent to the metallic boundary of the plasmonic waveguide. Although Kretschmann configuration has been adopted by several authors, its performance evaluation by the FFT BPM is presented here for the first time to the best of our knowledge. A surface plasmon biosensor based on Kretschmann configuration is studied by this modified FFT-BPM to detect the mosquito-borne dengue virus in the blood.
