N2 - The integrated starter generator (ISG) is a key part of hybrid electric vehicles. However, due to difference in power range of the two operating modes (motor and generator), the machine's performance decline in both modes. To solve this problem, the X-shaped rotor based on two air gaps ISG design is proposed in this paper. The torque behavior and generated power with different X-shape arrangement is also investigated by Finite element analysis simulation. An optimization design of a prototype and experiment results are given to verify the simulation results.
