N2 - The objective of this paper is to investigate the evolutions of artificial submerged sand bars in constant water depth and on slopes. Experiments with different wave conditions and geometries of bars are conducted. A dimensionless accumulative transport rate is defined to quantify the benefit of sand bar migration at quasi-equilibrium state. The evolution process of the sand bar in the constant water depth is discussed. Additionally, the bar evolution on the 1/10 slope is illustrated due to its special offshore transporting behavior. The results indicate that the evolution and accumulative transport rate of the sand bar can be evaluated appropriately by the Shields-dependent relation.
