Magnetic-modulation effects in bilayer bernal graphene

摘要

Magnetic-modulation effects in bilayer Bernal graphene are studied by the Peierls tight-binding model. The energy bands exhibit unusual oscillatory behaviors, which are dominated by the interlayer atomic interactions as well as the strength and period of the modulation. The influence on the carrier density distribution results in a change in localization strength and position. The density of states reflecting the main features of the energy bands is also discussed. These results are useful for understanding the bilayer graphene system for potential applications in nanoelectronics. They could be further verified by scanning tunneling spectroscopy measurements, optical-absorption spectra, and electric conductance.
