Manufacturing technique and tensile properties of tubular braids and tubular composites

摘要

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is a water soluble polymer with viscoelasticity, high water retention, biocompatibility, and biodegradation. This study aims to examine the tensile strength and displacement of tubular composites when wet and dry. On a braider, polyester (PET) yarns are braided into tubular fabrics, which are then combined with PVA solution and processed with a freeze-thaw manufacturing to form PVA/PET tubular composites. A tensile test is performed on the tubular braids and tubular composites to determine their tensile strength and displacement. Regardless of tubular braids or tubular composites, the tensile strength and displacement of dry samples are greater.
