N2 - Recently, 3D coordinates of point clouds with high precision are acquired by a Lidar system, which is composed of three subsystems - a GPS receiver, an inertial measurement unit and a laser scanner. Because of systematic errors in the subsystems, error recovery of Lidar data is necessary in order to obtain good quality. In this paper, we introduce a new data type, feature strength of Lidar points, which is derived from Lidar data, and develop a strip adjustment in a new mechanism for recovery of the Lidar systematic errors with elevation data and feature strength data. Our results show that elevation and feature strength are complementary data and suitable for different terrains individually while strip adjustment. Elevation data together with feature strength data is very useful to rectify Lidar systematic errors.
