Mesh Independence for Acoustic Noise of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

摘要

Finite element analysis (FEA) is a crucial aspct in the electrical motor design to avoid the time-consuming method when it is done by hand. This paper explores the FEA mesh configuration efficiently, considering the mesh shape, element size, and computational performances through mesh refinement process. Selecting proper mesh parameters helps to validate the geometry physical condition and reduce simulation running time. Two different parameters (mesh shape and element size) are used to generate 24 sound pressure outcomes and analyze the convergence points. The results show that a hexahedral shape with a 10 mm element size is recommended to use.
