Microencapsulation of dual-release plga microparticle for curcumin and doxorubicin released in stages

摘要

In this study, we proposed a microdroplet-based fabrication concept of a composited PLGA-based dual-drug release microparticle loaded with curcumin and doxorubicin. We used sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) as the porogen to form the porous structure in PLGA microparticles and filled the sodium alginate into the pores of PLGA microparticles. The dual-release of curcumin and doxorubicin would decrease the cardiotoxicity of chemotherapy drugs which is highly serviceable in cancer therapeutics and the clinical management of intractable diseases.
