Minimizing the energy of active contour by using a hopfield network

摘要

Active contour model (snake) is a top-down mechanism for locating edge contour (or boundary) of interested object in an image. The minimization procedure is the key problem to solve in the technique of active contour model. In this paper, a Hopfield network for minimizing the constrained energy of snake is proposed. Taking advantage of parallel computation and energy convergence capability in the Hopfield network, this method is faster and more stable for resolving the boundary locating problem. Some simulation results of our method is also presented.
