摘要
A new multimedia service platform that includes session mobility management and adaptive streaming over a three-tier server-proxy-client architecture is discussed. The UMP server determines proper video quality and transmission rate according to the current network situation and specific device capabilities. The system requires a video coder that can provide flexible scalability and can adapt video quality to the specific network situation. The Session Description Protocol can describe streaming media initialization parameters in conjunction with other protocols. Traditional proxy cache management is not suitable for managing layered video data for ubiquitous video streaming because allocated caches are static for BL/EL. The M21-SDS generator can describe the user's device capabilities and initial network conditions using XML and improved SIP signaling.
