摘要

Sedimentation rates on the continental shelf around Taiwan obtained by this method compare favorably with those from 13 C dating. Our estimated rates for modern basins in the Taiwan Strait are comparable to the rates in the paleobasins now on land in Taiwan. This similarity suggests that the arc-continent collision on the east side of Taiwan has been driving a migration of its western shoreline toward mainland China. -from Authors
