摘要

New educational opportunities accompany the age of ready access to personal computers. At VPI&SU, undergraduate engineering students have been required to purchase personal computers since the fall of 1984. This paper begins the examination of a program designed to furnish motion simulation software to dynamics students at all levels. The sophomore-level software is designed to enhance the ability of the student to visualize the motion of various dynamical mechanisms. Immediate appreciation for the effects of parameter changes is a prime educational goal. Techniques for personal computer animation are briefly reviewed, and student reaction to the software is discussed.
