摘要

Neutron diffraction and inelastic scattering studies have been carried out on a single crystal of BaCo_0.82Ni_0.18S₂. Analyses of the form factor show that the system is in the high spin state. Two-dimensional nature of the magnetic system has clearly been shown from the q-dependence of the magnetic excitations both above and below T_N. It is shown that a random phase treatment can roughly describe characteristics of the magnetic excitations above T_N.
