New algorithm for automatic sketching of kinematic chains

摘要

This paper describes a new algorithm for automatic sketching of kinematic chains for the minimization of the number of crossing links and achieving an artistic balance of the sketches. The term kinematic chain used here refers to a chain which is connected, closed, without any cut-link, and with simple joints only. The proposed algorithm is based on a small number of nice looking hand drawing set of basic contracted kinematic chains, and the proposed operations of link and joint contractions and expansions. The resultant kinematic chains drawn by the computer program developed prove that this algorithm is powerful.
