N2 - This work reports the fabrication of gold nanocubes with large quantity and uniform-size by an electrochemical approach using surfactant solution and acetone solvent addition. The shape of gold nanocubes depends on the amount of added acetone solvent. The nanocube edge is about 30 nm long. The gold nanocubes in corners and edges-on are truncated structures by transmission electron microscopy analysis. The red-shift from 525 to 538 nm is observed as shape of gold nanoparticles changed from sphere to cube in ultraviolet-visible absorption spectra. The selected area electron diffraction patterns indicate that the gold nanocubes are single-crystalline in nature with lattice constant a = 4.068 Å.
