N2 - A new systematic reasoning and integration approach is proposed to design the best process parameters for gilding stamping. The proposed approach integrates the Taguchi method with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the global image processing method. The use of Taguchi experimental method is to collect experiment data using smaller experiments and find the best factor-level combinations. The most significant control factors are determined by the ANOVA. The global image threshold method of Otsu is utilized to measure the image distortion of gilding stamping. The proposed systematic method is expected to outperform conventional trial-and-error method. Two practical examples on different substrates were used for performance evaluation. The experiment results were quite promising. Furthermore, for conducting an example of the study, the proposed systematic reasoning method only used one-third of the time on the trial run time of machinery and one-sixth of the cost compared to the trial-and-error method. That is, the working efficiency increases, and the gold and human costs decrease. The main advantage of the systematic reasoning approach is its applicability to any traditional industry for effectively solving related problems.
