摘要

This paper presents a low-cost, flexible, and portable electrochemical sensing platform for biomedical in vitro diagnostic applications. This proposed system automatically measures the redox current, which depends on the concentration of the target molecule in the analyte solution; it can estimate the concentration of analytes and finds applications in biomedical sensing. The target molecule is imprinted into poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol), which is coated on the surface of a screen-printed electrode. Melatonin is used as the target molecule for this system. The level of melatonin secreted in the urine might be associated with breast cancer risks. The measurement results of this system were compared with those of a commercial analyzer and were found to be very similar. This system can be operated independently and can be connected to a laptop for viewing the redox reaction by using the LabVIEW program, which provides a convenient graphical user interface for real-time monitoring and recording the information of electrochemical reactions. Compared with the results of the enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay in the urine sample measurement, those of the proposed system has moderate accuracy for urinary melatonin detection.
