摘要

Recently, quantitative ultrasound parameters such as speed of sound (SOS) and broadband ultrasound attenuation (BUA) have been successfully used to predict fracture in osteoporosis. Theoretically, when a broadband ultrasound pulse passes through the bone tissue the attenuation will be increase with frequency power law. The velocity dispersion is an acknowledged source of the uncertainty which degrades the measurement accuracy on velocity measurements in time domain. In this work, a model based on split spectral processing (SSP) technique in time domain was proposed to predict waveform distortion as the broadband ultrasound pulse pass through the human heel with different velocity dispersion.
