title = "Preparation and characterization of tri-n-octylamine microcapsule (TOA-MC) used for selective separation of Re(VII) [chemical analogs of Tc(VII)] in the high level liquid radioactive waste (HLLW)",
abstract = " TOA-MC was developed to act as absorbent for selective separation of 99 Tc(VII) from high-level radioactive liquid waste. The uptake (%) of Re(VII) a substitute for Tc(VII) due to similar chemical behavior by TOA-MC normally exceeding 95% in the presence of dilute HNO 3 was strongly retained and decreased with higher HNO 3 concentration by batch method. The surface morphology, thermal stability and diameter/size distribution of the microcapsules were examined by scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and digital microscope, respectively. The chemical structure was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. ",
