Quantitative OH-LIPF measurements in high pressure methane flames

Quantitative analysis of OH concentrations by LIPF and temperature measurements by thermocouple were conducted in laminar premixed CH4/air flames at 1-5 atm. The OH concentrations measured by LIPF for different flames and their calibration curves at different pressures were established. The nearest measuring position was 1 mm downstream of burner surface. The uncertainties in concentration and position measurements were ± 13% and ± 0.5 mm, respectively. The computed OH concentrations were systematically overestimated near the reaction zone. For flames at 1 atm, the overestimation of the OH concentrations was near 95% and more than three-fold and 5-atm flames. The overestimation might be caused by the misinterpretation of the peak flame temperature by given-temperature mode and/or over predicting of the preheating time by the flame simulation.
