Raman study on quenched YBa2Cu3O7-σ single crystals: Evidence of charge transfer during oxygen ordering on room temperature annealing

摘要

The Raman spectra of quenched YBa2Cu3O7-σ single crystals have been measured as a function of time in order to obtain information about oxygen ordering on room temperature annealing. It is found that the Raman frequency of the bridging oxygen (04) vibration mode increases with time on room temperature annealing, in coincidence with an increase in Tc. The observation is attributed to a change in the charge distribution in Cu2-O4-Cul complexes, resulting from a charge transfer caused by oxygen vacancy ordering.
