Robust Timing Synchronization Algorithm for 5G New Radio

摘要

In this paper, we first introduce the 5G new radio (NR) frame structure and synchronization signals. In the literature, there are some conventional synchronization algorithms including the autocorrelation algorithm and the cross-correlation algorithm. Although the cross-correlation algorithm outperforms the autocorrelation algorithm, the performance of the cross-correlation algorithm is significantly affected by the carrier frequency offset (CFO). In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm that is robust to the CFO and has better performance than the autocorrelation algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm performs well when CFO is introduced.
