摘要
For measuring the spin of a particle, it is usually subjected to an external field, as in a Stern-Gerlach apparatus. Such an observable effect thus highlights the feature that the spin of a particle is intrinsic property and is not contigent on the presence of an external field. As demonstrated, the spin-dependent term in the Dirac probability current density contributes significantly to the computed mean arrival time for a range of suitably chosen parameters of the Gaussian wave packet.
