Study on the energy conservation potential of office buildings in a subtropical climate

摘要

To understand how people's psychology and physiology are affected by temperature in an indoor environment, we carried out a subject experiment of 42 males and 37 females in 20s to evaluate their psychological state and sensation at air temperatures of 22°C, 25°C, 27°C, and 29°C. The results showed that in Tainan, the neutral temperature of the thermal sensation vote (TSV) was 26.8°C, for which the predicted mean vote (PMV) value was +0.84. The temperature range of the thermal comfort vote (TCV) exceeding 80% was between 25.4°C and 27.4°C, and the PMV range was from +0.43 to +0.99. We compared this temperature gap with the PMV model and determined the energy conversation potential based on thermal comfort. The results also indicate that gender and other personal factors all influence subjects' thermal sensation, a finding that can be applied to personal control of the HVAC system in the IoT era.
