The interaction between multiple tearing modes and the resistive wall in the reversed field pinches (RFP) configuration was investigated. A set of fully time-dependent equations, that described the dynamics of the multiple tearing modes was employed and solved numerically. It was shown that the multiple modes enhance the braking effect of the resistive wall. It was found that the locking threshold predicted in the case of multiple modes is much smaller than that of the case of the single mode.
