The research is about an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) "Dragon Fly-II" which is designed for the survey and disaster prevention. The mission is defined as a quick response of UAV with 4-6 flight hours with payload of 5kg, and autopilot as well as route planning. A process of design and test is built for an unmanned aerial vehicle. It can be divided into four parts, including aircraft design, controller design, subsystem establishment, and flight test. In the first part, considering preliminary design and detail design which are including the analysis of aerodynamics, lift and drag coefficient. Then we choose appropriate flight point and design it. After the UAV design and system integration, the UAV performance can be found due to the flight test. The flight tests including performance test, autopilot test and an oversea mission in a disaster survey which ensures the UAV available.
