title = "The feasibility study of micro-EDM hole-drilling method for measuring residual stress",
abstract = "The feasible evaluation of Micro-EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) Hole-Drilling Method is investigated in this study for measuring residual stress. The test materials used in this study are AISI 1045 carbon steel and AISI D2 tool steel. The High-Speed (HS) Hole-Drilling Method, recommended in ASTM Standard E837, is involved for compression purpose. In practice, how to reduce the extra-induced stress generated by the EDM drilling process itself is the main consideration while the hole-drilling strain-gage method is applied in residual stress measurement. The influence factors on the hole-drilling induced stress are discussed in this study.",
