Objective: Burn patients and their families usually have many worries and informational needs before the patients are discharged from the hospital. The purpose of this study was to explore the worries and informational needs of burn patients and their families before discharge. Materials and Methods: Using a cross-sectional survey, a self-administered questionnaire was developed to investigate the worries and informational needs of burn patients and their caregivers. The patients and their caregivers completed the questionnaire one day before discharge. Results: Among 33 burn patients, 32 caregivers and 23 adult patients completed the questionnaire. Results revealed that patients and caregivers were more worried about wound care and social support resources. A positive correlation was found between the informational needs and worries of both patients and caregivers. Conclusions: In order to improve burn patients' and their caregivers' adaptation after being discharged from the hospital, assessing their worries and informational needs is essential for improving the quality of the professional care for families with burn patients.
