Thermal effects in elastohydrodynamic lubrication of line contacts

摘要

The numerical solutions of pressure, film thickness, and temperature distribution from incorporated Reynolds, Elasticity, and Energy equations between two surfaces simultaneously having rolling and sliding motions are obtained. The analysis is based on mean viscosity and density across the film. The results for thermal consideration associated with the slip ratio are presented to compare with isothermal solutions. The remarkable distinction of the mean temperature based on Barus and Roelands viscosities is also presented. Thermal effect on minimum film thickness is substantially enhanced at high rolling speed and sliding factor.
