N2 - The purpose of this study is to explore the possible effects of trust and security on the e-voting system in Taiwan. According to the technology acceptance model, a set of trust constructs is proposed for four perceptual factors as research variables: ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude of usage and security. The research method utilised Structural Equation modelling to test the perception of trust of 281 users in the e-voting system. The research results showed the effect of ‘ease of use’ on attitude towards using the e-voting system required ‘perceived usefulness’ as a medium. Then the effect exhibited positive and significant influences among ease of use, perceived usefulness and attitude towards using the e-voting system. Security of the e-voting system has a positive and significant effect on attitude and trust in the e-voting system. Therefore, the security of the e-voting system plays an important role in establishing user trust.
