N2 - A novel UPS topology is proposed to increase outage-mode output power capacity. The proposed UPS provides a regulated sinusoidal voltage to the load via a voltage controlled inverter (VCI), and provides a sinusoidal line current with low total harmonic distortion via a PFC rectifier. The proposed system maintains the benefits of conventional UPS such as near-unity input power factor and well regulated output voltage. To obtain good output voltage regulation, a load current disturbance compensator is added to achieve good dynamic response, especially in the presence of nonlinear loads.
