Visualizations of flow over a 50 degree sweep delta wing

摘要

The characteristics of flow over a 50 deg sweep delta wing was studied with a dye visualization technique and a dot-paint technique. The latter technique was employed for the purpose of revealing the limiting streamline pattern on the wing surface. At high angle of attack as the leading-edge vortex does not roll up above the wing surface, the limiting streamline patterns are featured with the formation of spiral separation structures which is varied with the angle of attack and the side slip angle. The present work further considered to promote the development of the leading-edge vortical flow at high angle of attack by means of surface blowing. A discussion based on the results obtained in this respect is given.
